CHACON HIKE & BIKE TRAIL

The Chacon Creek Hike & Bike Trail is one of Laredo’s hidden Gem. It’s nestled in the middle of South Central Laredo neighborhoods connecting seven City of Laredo Park Facilities. This five-mile-long trail is an environmental beauty waiting to be explored and enjoyed. If you wish to enjoy the full five-mile trek of the Hike & Bike Trail, you can start your venture at the Arturo Benavides Sr. Memorial Park. The Benavides Sr. Park is located in the Eastwood Subdivision adjacent to Clark Boulevard. The trail will lead you under Clark Boulevard toward the James & Maria Luisa Haynes Recreation Center location. On the trail you will see people riding bikes, walking or jogging. This picturesque trail will literally have you experience nature up close. The final stop on the trail will be the Chacon Bat Park which will educate you on our local Chacon Creek Bat Colony, you can witness hundreds of bats flying out under the Meadow Avenue Bridge every night at dusk.
